Tis the Season

It's getting darker outside, eerily still.
The hope has been drained from the very air I breathe,
but I believe in the sun...even when it's not shining.
A single drop falls upon my cheek.
Then there are too many to count.
I cannot tell which are raindrops and which are tears,
but I will stand in the rain...I won't drown.
I see for only a split second, as the lightning strikes.
He will bring beauty from this pain.
